
UAM has formed one of the most outstanding university communities in Mexico and, through the work of students, faculty and administrative staff, has contributed to the transformation of higher education with an international dimension.
In its five university campuses, Azcapotzalco, Cuajimalpa, Iztapalapa, Lerma and Xochimilco, Cultural dissemination centers: Casa Rafael Galván, Casa del Tiempo, Casa de la Primera Prensa de América, Casa de la Paz Theater and Leonora Carrington Casa Estudio, Centers for Child Development and the General Rectorate, houses a community of more than 45,000 undergraduate students and more than 2,900 graduate students; It has trained 181,933 undergraduate professionals and 16,268 graduate professionals.
With an academic staff force of 2,931 professors/researchers, UAM teaches 82 undergraduate and 114 graduate study programs: 12 specializations, 62 master's degrees and 40 doctorates, 82 of the latter level incorporated into the CONACYT National Postgraduate System.
Alumni from the University have excelled in the workplace, both in the public and private sectors in Mexico and abroad.
The “Casa Abierta al Tiempo” UAM Foundation carries out intense work to bring the community together, so that they can contribute, based on the same vision of solidarity, to the new generations of students.
The university community takes part in sports and recreational activities which develop aptitudes, intellectual skills and values.
Since 1983, UAM “Black Panthers” representative teams have strengthen the pride, culture and institutional identity that show sports as an essential element for the well-rounded education of those who are part of this house of studies.
